• ABC's to adding 4WS to your Losi LMT

With the popularity of the Losi LMT, we've had many people asking what parts are needed to convert your truck to running 4WS.  This build guide will cover using both stock Losi parts as well as aftermarket Treal aluminum parts, all of which is available through our website for 1-stop shopping!

-    Method A:  If you already have a complete rear housing (including internals) that you want to convert, you would need the following stock Losi parts to convert a straight rear axle to a steer axle:

LOS242031 - Front Axle Assembly (x1)  This will give you a spare axle housing, but contains all the other pieces needed.

LOS242048 - Front Universal Set (x1)

-    Method B:  If you do NOT have any axle and are building one from scratch with steering using stock Losi parts:

LOS242031 - Front Axle Assembly (x1)

LOS242033 - Complete Front/Rear Diff (x1)

LOS242042 - Diff Pinion Gear (x1)

LOS242048 - Front Universal Set (x1)

CPE-SHIMLMT - LMT Diff Shim Set (x1).  These aren't required, but are recommended to ensure optimal gear mesh between the ring and pinion gears.

-    Method C:  If you do NOT have any axle and are building one from scratch with steering using Treal aftermarket parts:

CPE-LMTAXLEF - Front Axle Housing (x1)

CPE-LMTKNUCKLE - Steering Knuckle Set (x1)

CPE-LMTSERVO - Steering Servo Mount (x1)

CPE-LMTSTEER - Steering Link Set (x1)

LOS242033 - Complete Front/Rear Diff (x1)

LOS242042 - Diff Pinion Gear (x1)

LOS242048 OR CPE-LMTUNIVERSAL- Front Universal Set (x1)

CPE-SHIMLMT - LMT Diff Shim Set (x1).  These aren't required, but are recommended to ensure optimal gear mesh between the ring and pinion gears.

In addition to the parts above, you will need a 2nd steering servo.  We have servos available from the economical to high end.  If you have a multi-channel radio that allows for mixing you can control both servos independently using that.  If you have the stock Losi/Spektrum radio, you would need to add a servo reverser in-line with your rear servo.  You can also use this 3ch radio/receiver from the Ground Pounder as it comes stock with 4 different built-in steering modes  This will give you full-time 4WS, which can also make your truck handle unpredictably at higher speeds.
